‘Lightning-Striking’ New Gift Packaging Design for El Rayo Tequila

We’ve been supporting El Rayo with their packaging since early 2019, and during that very same summer, we produced a stunning litho printed gift pack for them. We enjoyed it so much that we included it into our entries for last year’s print week awards (you can find out more about it here.)

Having explored the options of flexo eCommerce packaging, El Rayo Tequila are back once again with another spirits packaging showstopper…

The autumn of 2020 saw Jack Vereker (Co-Founder, El Rayo Tequila) get in touch for a new luxury gift packaging solution for their premium tequila. Named the ‘T&T Gift Box’, this corrugated gift pack was designed to hold two 5cl bottles of their flagship products (No.1 Plata and No.2 Reposado) and 4 cans of Indian tonic.

Emma Bishop, our Internal Sales Co-Ordinator, and our in-house design team quickly got to work in bringing this design to life.

 

The new die-cut gift box is modelled on a FEFCO 0427 design that has been (CMYK) litho printed and enhanced further with the luxury embellishments of gold foil-blocking and soft touch laminate to boot! – Collectively, they’ve come together to produce a really (erhem) lightning striking design.

To keep the contents enclosed secure and to provide an aesthetic presentation platform for El Rayo Tequila’s products, the T&T Gift Box was kitted out with a bespoke litho printed internal fitting.

Both the external gift pack and the internal fitting were die-cut using our BOBST-Vision Cut.

Our machine operators who performed the task of die cutting the litho printed sheets paid meticulous attention to the alignment of the print. Ensuring that the sheets were cut with an accuracy that aligned all the intricate foil-blocking across all folds of the packaging design.

The result? – A luxury gift packaging design worthy of admiration. Here’s a short clip of it running through our machines:
