Premium Whiskey Packaging Boxes for Sailors Home

Saxon Packaging was challenged to produce a luxury gift pack to house a single bottle of Horizon 10 year old premium whiskey finished in Barbados Rum cask to turn heads in the retail environment and showcase the product above all.

Saxon Packaging business development manager, Adam Futter, worked closely with Cian Quilty, founder of Sailor’s Home, and the Saxon design team. Together they created a premium whiskey display box that reflected the Sailor’s Home brand, showcased the liquid and the unique packaging features like decanter style bottle and engraved cork.

 

The box design cleverly creates an interaction between the consumer, the whiskey and the Sailor’s Home story – told on the side walls of the box.

The premium look and feel was achieved by printing internally and externally using the lithographic print process, and given further embellishments of luxury print finishes including; gold foil blocking creating visual disruption for on-shelf differentiation and matt lamination to produce a sobering (no sheen) yet elegant texture to the packaging design.

In addition to the external print elements, our Saxon Packaging in-house design team specified the cut out window feature at front and back to showcase the product from all angles.

Sailor’s Home extended this design to the rest of its product range, resulting in a sister gift pack for The Haven Single Pot Still Irish whiskey and a bottle & glass combination gift pack for The Journey Irish whiskey.
