Saxon Packaging Sponsors The Adnams 10k Run
Our relationship with Adnams spans over two decades. Since 1998, we have been supplying the multi-award winning brewery with bespoke packaging solutions for their ever-growing, and popular range of beverages & products.
Whilst we love supporting Adnams with their packaging needs, getting involved with their community initiatives is something that we consider to be a special privilege.
At Saxon Packaging, the Adnams 10k charity run has always been a key date in the calendar for the runners amongst us.
Last year (November 1st 2020), members of the Saxon Packaging team, including Mike Impson, Trevor Hook, Steve Hindes and Granger Wittering, all took part in the Virtual Adnams 10K Run, held in place of the usual event due to the difficulties brought by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Together they faced high winds and rain as they ran around the popular Southwold route and celebrated with a socially distanced pint to end the day.
On Sunday 28th November 2021, the Saxon Packaging team returned to Southwold to take part in the event once again. This year, we were more involved than ever before with the charitable initiatives that make this event so special.
Each year, the Adnams 10K Run raises money for The Adnams Community Trust, – a charitable organisation that has been supporting the community for over 30 years.
Funded by a percentage of Adnams annual profits, mandated dividends, donations and legacies, The Adnams Community Trust awards a number of grants. Recipients include worthy causes and initiatives within a 25 mile radius of Southwold, or in the case of national charities, those benefiting residents living within 25 miles of Southwold.
Supporting our local community is something that we are very passionate about here at Saxon Packaging, and when the opportunity arose to support this charitable initiative, we were only too keen to hit the road running and fire up our printers!
This year, we decided to show our support by sponsoring the event with 1000 digitally over-printed bespoke promotional paper bags along with our very own Saxon Packaging sports water bottles that were handed out to rehydrate runners who took part on the day.
“Supporting our local community is something that we are very passionate about here at Saxon Packaging and we know that putting on an event of that size can be very costly. By supporting Adnams with this small gesture, we hope that it has allowed for more proceeds to make their way to the charitable initiatives that The Adnams Community Trust deliver”. – Mike Impson, Sales Director, Saxon Packaging.
“We are extremely grateful to Saxon Packaging for their support with the Adnams 10k. It means that even more funds can be directed to valuable work in the local community. The contents of our 10k goody bags have a strong reputation and this year they were just as appealing on the outside thanks to the team at Saxon. With over 800 runners crossing the finish line, their generous contribution was much needed and very well received.” – James Fox-Golding: Adnams Events and Experiences Manager
